Background: Colin was a police officer for 30 years, serving in the Northumbria, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Cumbria forces. He retired in 2001 and moved back to the North East to work in his family catering company.
He left the business in 2007 and undertook voluntary work in grassroots football, coaching at his local club and holding various League and Club committee positions.
